Here Comes Papaw Cottontail!?

Maliana ~

Started out my week like this...as posted on Facebook:
~ against my better judgment, I let Mali ride in the cart basket where she narrated the content of our entire cart to anyone who would listen...got to my hair coloring and said, "Mommy's hair stuff...because she's an old lady!" #thanksman
(and yes, she is in fact getting ready to launch that package of hard-boiled eggs onto the checkout belt) #wearesothatfamilytoday

But then you helped me bring in and put away all of the groceries and did your homework without arguing about it at all, telling me you're going to be like this all week. Whoa! I could get used to this!

On Tuesday I took you to the PTA meeting where they were highlighting you kindergarteners. You performed your alphabet phonics song that I have gotten very used to throughout the year and it was adorable! You were very sweet (as you can see from the video), with your friend Jocelyn as she got pretty shy in front of everyone and tried to hide so you gently pulled her back out to the front as best you could. Such a sweet gesture. I love watching you with your friends. So cute.

Click here to see you all performing only about half of the song before my phone pooped out on me. Boo. But, still super cute!

Jos, Dylan, and you after PTA
Had to take Suzy to the vet on Wednesday and you were probably the most stylish and chic in the entire office...here you are just chilling in the waiting room with a hot beverage.
as my dear friend said when she saw this...
"coffee. no cream, no sugar, no bullshit"
ha ha ha ~ love you EB!
And speaking of our pets, that reminds me of another morning you had woken up recently with tears in your eyes, crying because, out of the blue, you were thinking ahead to when our sweet Abby will die. Admittedly she is getting older and we all know that saying goodbye is never easy. It broke my heart when you said that. Hopefully it's many happy years from now. The following is a picture of me hanging out on the porch with Abby while watching you play with your friends.
sweetest. dog. ever.
Friday had a rough start and staying at work until the end of the day was brutal. You could say I was having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day...until I came to pick you up from school and saw this little nugget:
I had brought your bike to school and you practiced for a while, then we played on the jungle gym before heading home. You braved your fear and mastered this suspended bridge (below). So proud of you for pushing through your fear!
red boot courage
We got home and got to briefly meet the new neighbors that will be moving into Brooklyn and Braycen's house in a few weeks. You actually got very sad and for a while refused to even come over and say hello. You are already missing your buddies, Brooklyn and Braycen. While my heart breaks for you having to say one of your first goodbyes to dear friends soon, I was relieved to learn that the new neighbors seem really nice. It really lifted my spirits.

As soon as Daddy got home, we hopped in the car and headed to the Shelton's house for dinner and some hang out time. It was nice to finally see their new (muy beautiful!) home and spend time together as well. You, Carter, and Cassidy did great together and at certain moments it was a bit hard to tell you and Carter apart with your extremely similar haircuts. Ha.
yay, ice cream!!

even the daddies were excited about their sundaes!

evidently Carter likes to watch Minecraft on
YouTube just like you do
Saturday morning we had our monthly Fu play date, this time at a park. Sunny, blue skies, and just enough wind for Daddy to get the kite up for a while. It was really nice.
it was so hard to get all of you AND the kite...
this was the best I could do

you, Lainey, and Cass
Once home, I went out for a run with Aunt Tina and you hung out at home with the neighbors. Evidently, you really missed Roman and Natalia.

Roman joined you ladies...and for some
reason you look unsure, ha.
Then Saturday night it was time for you to spend the night at Memaw and Papaw's with your cousins. Party time! You had a great night, only calling me once to talk to Suzy, and then Abby. Memaw and Papaw said you were so sweet and giving out big hugs all night. The next morning, we met you over at their house where we then trucked ourselves to St. Phillips for breakfast and the Easter egg hunt. After the hunt you were so very sweet, giving some of your bigger eggs to Sammy when you realized she didn't get as many large eggs as you. Papaw also dressed up as the Easter Bunny again and when you saw him you said, "I know that's Papaw in there, but I won't tell anyone" then later walked over to him and said, "I know that's you in there Papaw, but I didn't tell anyone so I won't spoil it" and then after giving him a great big hug you said, "You're the best grandpa ever!" Needless to say, his heart (and all of ours) melted right then and there.
heading out to the eggs!

Once home, it was a gorgeous day and so Daddy took you, Brooklyn and Bubby out into the woods for some exploring and bug hunting.
stylish explorers

checking the map...who needs GPS
when you've got these guys?!

The rest of the evening was fairly lazy, eating a pizza dinner and playing with your friends. Once again, we sure will miss these Brooklyn and Braycen when they move. We'll just have to soak them in with days like this until they go. Hopefully they don't go too far away. Fingers crossed!

Love,
Mama
